Vincent M. Guttilla, 94, of Penn Hills, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 10, 2006, at Forbes Hospice, Oakland. He was born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 3, 1911, to the late Anna and S. Carl Guttilla and also was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Charles, Carl and James Guttilla; and his sisters, Mac Abbott, Freda Belfi and Anna Romito Guttilla. Vincent was married to Margaret (Tramonte) Guttilla for 54 years until her death in 1985. Surviving are their two children, Anna Marie Pallatto (Patrick) and Carl Guttilla (Marcia); six grandchildren, Harry Seibel (Regina), Vincent Seibel, Richard Seibel (Cindy), Vincent Guttilla, John Guttilla and Carla Jo Guttilla; five stepgrandchildren, Patrick (Valerie), Michael (Angie) Pallatto, Tina (Jeff) Gibson and Billy and Brian Edwards. He was a loving great-grandpap to Sandy, Harry, Robert, Carl, Danny, Ricky Seibel and Austin Groninger. Vince was business partners with his brothers, Tom and Charley, in Plymouth Van Lines and East End Trucking Co. in Bloomfield for many years. He went to Bloomfield every day to meet with his many old friends and new friends alike. He was lovingly known to many as just "Gramps." Vince was an usher at Immaculate Conception Church and a volunteer for many years at the Veterans Hospital in Aspinwall. Before his open heart surgery in 2000, he also volunteered at the food bank. Vince was a member of the North Hills Moose 46, the Masonic Lodge on Cemetery Lane and the Stephen Foster Community Center (Bloomfield Senior Center). Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 11735 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral prayers will be at 8:45 a.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. The family suggests contributions be made to Forbes Hospice, 115 S. Neville St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
