Frank S. Gulisek, 86, of Latrobe, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008. He was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Marek and Maria (Scudra) Gulisek. Frank was first employed by Robertshaw Controls and then Latrobe Steel Co., from which he retired after 33 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the Army's 276th Ordinance Maintenance Co. in the European Theater. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe, where he served as an usher, and was also a member of the Thomas B. Anderson American Legion Post 515 and the Latrobe Steelworkers Retiree Club of Local 1537. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Permuko, Anne Komenda and Helen Ritter; and two brothers, Joseph and John Gulisek. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Florence (Steffens) Gulisek; four children, Kenneth Gulisek and his wife Marlene, Thomas Gulisek and his wife MaryJo, Bruce Gulisek and his wife Renee, and Linda Beal and her husband Anthony; five grandchildren, Bret, Jessica and Nicholas Gulisek, and Charles and Eleanor Beal; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Military services accorded by the combined funeral detail of American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414 will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent Basilica. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Basilica Parish, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
