Kohuth , Kathryn


Kathryn S. Kohuth, 91, of Bradenville, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at her residence. Born April 23, 1917 in Mt. Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Gau. She was a member of St. Rose Church. She was a cook at the former Nicholas Restaurant, Latrobe, and had also been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bradenville Fire Department. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael “Scotty” Kohuth, on April 19, 1993; a son, Leon; a grandson, Raymond Baughman; a brother, Andrew Gau; and a sister, Victoria Yokopenic. She is survived by five children, Andrew J. and wife Mary Anne, Bradenville, Mary, Bradenville, Michael, Derry, Teresa Oshie and husband Frank, Latrobe, and Olga Newhouse and husband Eugene, New Alexandria; 10 grand-children; and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends were received in the John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., Latrobe. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday in St. Rose Church with the Rev. Thomas Smith as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Byzantine cemetery. Members of the Bradenville Volunteer Fire Department held services Sunday in the funeral home.
