Verna A. Pinazza, 91, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette. She was born June 10, 1917, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Russ) Sever. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by the U.S. Army Reserve in Carbon and also Greensburg Central Catholic High School. She was a member of St. Paul Parish, the Rosary Altar Society and Goldenaires of the parish, and the SNPJ Lodge and its Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Pinazza, on May 28, 1968; and two sisters, Mary Paulin and Ann Kuznik. She is survived by a son, Charles D. Pinazza and his wife, Linda, of Greensburg; two daughters, Carol Decesere and her husband, Daniel, of Bovard, and Marlene Packey and her husband, Daniel, of Herminie; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Sever and his wife, Vange, and William Sever, all of Greensburg; two sisters, Sophia Kuznik and her husband, William, of Export, and Jennie Levic, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Parish with Monsignor William R. Rathgeb as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary Altar Society will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Thursday to pray the rosary. www.bachafuneralhomeinc.com.
