Margaret S. Thickey, 87, formerly of Tarentum, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. She was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Harrison Township, daughter of the late Kenneth and Hazel (Wyant) Costello, and lived her entire life in Tarentum. She was a homemaker. As a youth during World War II she worked at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge. She was very proud of working at Allegheny Ludlum during the War. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and animals, especially her cats. Survivors include her sons, Rodger F. (Marlene) Costello, of Fawn, Lester (Carol) Thickey Jr., of Tarentum, and Charles (Cindy) Thickey, of Tarentum; grandchildren, Laurie (Doug) Simoncic, of Fawn, Kenneth (Cherie) Costello, of Glenshaw, and twins Leslie (William) Mayhugh, of Winfield Township, and Lisa Thickey, of Lower Burrell; great-grandchildren, Julia Ann Pacek, of Fawn, D.J. Simoncic, of Fawn, Maize and Claire Costello and Faith and Grace Mayhugh; stepgrandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Andrew) Meso and Nicki and Steve Lascek; two great-stepgrandchildren, Alexis and Zack Meso; and nieces and nephews, Margie Weber, of Tarentum, John and Barbara Miller, of Greenville, and Bruce and Barbara Burke, of Vandergrift. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester M. Thickey Sr.; and two sisters, Julia Weber and Millie Burke. Relatives and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev.
