Grace Louise Bizzle, 90, of Marienville, Pa., formerly of Finleyville and Carroll Township, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, in Clarion Hospital. She was born July 7, 1918, in Finleyville, a daughter of the late William Iddo and Eva (Baxter) Smail. Mrs. Bizzle lived most of her life in Finleyville (Courtney Hill). In her latter years, she made her home with her daughter, Patricia, in Carroll Township and, most recently, resided in Marienville with her granddaughter, Linda Sassak. In her younger years, Mrs. Bizzle was employed by Monongahela Valley County Club and also was a caregiver to many in the Mon Valley area. She was a lifelong and very active member with the Church of God in Monongahela. Mrs. Bizzle was very faithful in her work with the missions, where she served as director and was very devoted in raising funds for the building fund, especially with hoagie sales. She was well known for the delectable goods she made for the bake sales, was the leader of the prayer group and a member of the Marker Association. In her spare time, Mrs. Bizzle enjoyed crafts and will sadly be missed by Maxwell and Skeena, her furry friends. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Bizzle, of Carroll Township, and Georgie Hruby and husband Raymond Sr., of Finleyville; one son, Grover Sweeney, of County Kerry, Ireland; five grandchildren, Linda Sassak and husband Tim, Lisa Bazalewski and husband Michael, Raymond Hruby Jr. and wife Mary, Timothy Hruby and wife Donna, and Michael Hruby and wife Heather; seven great-grandchildren, Dawn Sassak, Michael and Patrick Bazalewski, Rachel, Taylor Rae, Alicia and Michaela Hruby; and one step great-grandchild, Adam Dearborn; two sisters, Julia 'Tillie' Hulings, of Marienville, and Priscilla Nicklas, of South Port, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Sweeney, and her second husband, Michael Bizzle; two sons and one daughter: Thomas Sweeney, Ruby Garrett and Larry Bizzle; and eight brothers and sisters: Ruth Spencer, Ulysses and Horace Smail, Sarah Partazana, Fanny Moore, Mary Masters, Frank Smail and Wilda Crise. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela (724-258-6136), where services will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Burdett officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
