Campbell , William R.

Homer City

William R. Campbell, 59, of Homer City, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at home. Born Feb. 23, 1950 in Buffington Township, he was the son of late Burgess and Louise (Hauck) Campbell. He was a social member of VFW Post 5211 and Firemanís Club, both of Vintondale, and the Moose Lodge No. 207, Nanty-Glo. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Mary (Close) Campbell; children Melissa (Havard) Johns and husband William, Latrobe, Mary (Close) Dobbs and husband Samuel, Sterling, Va., Joseph Hollen, Homer City, Serena (Campbell) Kinsey and husband Ricky, Johnstown, Rebecca Campbell, Nanty-Glo, and William B. and wife Rebecca Cota, Johnstown; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; brother George F. and wife Suzanna, Alverda; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas R.; and two infant sisters. Friends were received at the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh, where services were held Thursday with Rev. John Hodge officiating. Interment was in Faith United Methodist Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
