Notarnicola , Donald A. 81

Formerly of Vandergrift

Donald A. "Ducky" Notarnicola, 81, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, in Forbes Hospice, Oakland. He was born April 19, 1928, in Vandergrift, the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Bruno) Notarnicola. Don was an established barber for many years in the Mellon Square area of Pittsburgh and for 17 years in Tarentum. He also worked at several barbershops in the Alle-Kiski area. He was an Army veteran. Don immensely enjoyed dancing. He loved spending time with his companion of five years, Carole "Karolcia" Siewczak, and friend, Michael Siewczak. All he took with him was their love. He is survived by his brother, Vito (Marie) Notarnicola, of West Leechburg; his sister, Alice Lookbaugh, of Leechburg; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend and companion, Carole Siewczak, of Natrona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Angeline Simon and Annie Corsi. At Don's request, there is no visitation. All are welcome to attend the Christian Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, Spruce Street, Natrona. Military honors will be accorded to him by the Army in church. Interment private in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Arrangements entrusted to the PAUL R. AJAK FUNERAL HOME INC., 2 Pine Street and River Avenue, Natrona.
