Andrew "Andy" Janetka, 82, of Bell Township, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Tarentum, the son of the late John and Eva Masnica Janetka. Before his retirement, he was employed as a field engineer at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, where he achieved the rank of sergeant. Andy is a member of St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church in Slickville, and the PNA lodge No. 1234 in Avonmore. He enjoyed farming, hunting, was an avid fisherman, but most importantly he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carina Rudolph Janetka; two daughters, Juanita Bufalini and her husband, Bruce, of Indiana, and Charlotte Buccardo, of Delmont; four grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Buccardo, of Delmont, Carrie Smith and her husband, Nathan, of Henderson, Colo., and Kayla Bufalini, of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph and Paul Janetka; and three sisters, Josephine Pawlak, Anna Hopper and Mary Janetka. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, Slickville, with the Rev. Salvatore Lamendola as celebrant and the Rev. Anthony Carbone as con-celebrant. Everyone is to meet at church Wednesday morning. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
