Elizabeth "Betty" (Grajczar) Kasanicky, 84, of the Gosser Hill area of Allegheny Township, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights. She was born May 19, 1925, in Allegheny Township, a daughter of the late Julius and Elizabeth (Pinker) Grajczar. She lived in the Gosser Hill area of Allegheny Township all of her life. She was employed on the bottling lines at the former Joseph S. Finch Co. in Schenely. She later was employed at the former Rubin's Department Store. She was a member of Christ the King Parish in Leechburg. Mrs. Kasanicky enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C., cooking and watching all sports, especially football, hockey and golfing, spending holidays with her family, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and grandson, Patrick. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Peter P. Kasanicky; two daughters, Patricia (Armand) Pugliese, of Allegheny Township, and Nancy (Michael) Demao, of Hidden Valley, Pa.; grandson, Patrick Pugliese; brother, Robert E. Grajczar, of Leechburg; sister, Mary Kasanicky, of Warren, Ohio; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Julius and Albert Grajczar. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in CLAWSONS, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Parish. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Joseph V. Trupkovich. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
