Tutchstone , Madeline 90

Vandergrift

Madeline Tutchstone, 90, of Vandergrift, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in the Alle Kiski Medical Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1921, to the late Joseph and Agnes Brown. Madeline was the wife of the late Ulers Tutchstone; and the mother of five wonderful children, Richard Brown, of Vandergrift, William Tutchstone, of North Carolina, Ulers (Christine) Tutchstone, of Vandergrift, Marlene (Freddie) Light, of Ohio, and Mary Francis (Thomas) Arrington, of Ohio. She is survived by her children; three brothers, Howard (Virginia) Brown, of Apollo, William (Barbra) Brown, of Ford City, and Charles (Bert) Brown, of Ohio; and two sisters, Helen Seller, of Harrisburg, and India "Honey" Allen, of Harrisburg; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Beatty; and a dear cousin, Iris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Ulers Tutchstone; a brother, Joseph Brown Jr.; a granddaughter, Denita Hart; a great-granddaughter, Kiara Chambers; and nephews, Ronald Brown and Antoine Allen. Madeline was a member of The New Baptist Church for 60 years. She was a church deaconess, The Mother of the church, and was a worthy matron of Rosewood Chapter 77 Eastern Star. She worked for many years as a homemaker and a caregiver for many children of family and friends she had a way to touch the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Madeline enjoyed cooking and baking on holidays. She loved unconditionally and labored endlessly for grand and great-grandchildren. She loved her church family and Pastor Jefferies. She treasured her own family, brothers and sisters and enjoyed spending every moment with her 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Madeline from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at The New Life Baptist Church, in Apollo, with a service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jefferies officiating.
