Evelyn C. Klingensmith, 84, of Kittanning, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at home. She was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Michigan, daughter of the late Wilbur and Catherine (Arble) Carley. She was employed by Clarks Grill, Big River Manufacturing and Moonlight Mushroom. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, in Kittanning. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, West Virginia Bingo, watching Tiger Woods play golf, and the Steelers. She loved playing cards. Survivors include her son, Robert T. Klingensmith, of Kittanning; daughters, Joan E. Reid, of Kittanning, and Janet L. (Joseph) Kaufman, of Adrian; grandchildren, Robert Cody Klingensmith, of Fairfield, Calif., Kai Klingensmith, of Kittanning, Ryan (Brenda) Soloski, of Kittanning, Brooke Wetzel, of Kittanning, Taylor Ion, of Kittanning, Timothy Kaufman, of Saxonburg, Robert (Heidi) Kaufman, of Mercer, Amy Mateer, of Manorville, Stacy Klingensmith, of Kittanning, and Michael Klingensmith and companion, Tasha, of Kittanning; great-grandchildren, Mason Kaufman, of Saxonburg, Justin Klingensmith, of Kittanning, Sierra Kaufman, of Saxonburg, Angela Wright, of Kittanning, and Michael W. Klingensmith, of Kittanning; sisters, Mildred Neider, of Erie, and Dorothy Kalamaras, of New Jersey; brother, James Ryan and companion, Feda, of California; one great-granddaughter, Leah, of Kittanning; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Basil M. Klingensmith, Jan 22. 2006; sister, Margaret Wright; and son, William 'Bill' Klingensmith. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at KENNEDY AND BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, in Kittanning. Parting prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, in Kittanning, with Father Daniel Blout as celebrant.
