James M. Lasher, 84, of East Franklin Township, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 28, 1927, in Adrian, a son of the late Thomas F. Lasher and Lena (Wolfe) Lasher. He retired from Bricklayers Local 9 in Greensburg. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in Germany. A member of Brush Valley Brethren Church in Adrian, he was also a member of Worthington American Legion Post 828 and International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He enjoyed antiques, the Pittsburgh Steelers and nature. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ethel (Crissman) Lasher; daughter, Sue French, of Ford City; son, Larry (Michele) Lasher, of Lewiston; grandchildren, Michelle (Jared) Slagle, of Houston, Texas, Shayna (Charles) Anthony, of Kittanning, Todd (Traci) Lasher, of Delaware, Steve Lasher, of Delaware, and Chad Lasher, of Lewiston; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Bailey, Abby, Katie and Kara; sister, Mildred "Sis" (Paul) Beatty; and brothers, Paul Lasher and Wade (Janet) Lasher, all of Kittanning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Charles, Edward and William Lasher; and son-in-law, Andy French. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. David R. Skinner and Pastor Robert French officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
