Tatar , Gilda A. 85

New Eagle

Gilda A. (Oresti) Tatar, 85, of New Eagle, died Sat., Oct. 20, 2012, in Lawson’s Nursing Home, Jefferson Hills. Born Nov. 26, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Minnie (Paul) Oresti. Along with being a devoted homemaker for her family, Gilda worked for many years at Hills Restaurant in New Eagle. She was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, (St. Anthony Church) in Monongahela. Surviving are a son, Joseph R. Tatar of New Eagle; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna J. and Jay Taylor of Monongahela, Shirley A. Seykoski of Charleroi, and Denise J. and Norman "Rusty" Sadler of New Eagle; a sister, Pearl McCourt of Point Breeze; 11 grandchildren Kelly Jo (Bran) Sasic, Jay D. (Jamie) Taylor Kimberly Chiocchia, Andrew and Sean Seykoski, Nicole (Joe) Shuber, Rochelle and Tricia Sadler, Jennifer (Matthew) Valencia, Eric (Bonnie) and Rudy Tatar; 13 great-grandchildren, Joey L., Jessica and Jaiden Taylor, Ava and Netta Valencia, Ean Tatar, Kiley and Gavin Shuber, Stefan and Angela Sasic and Erika Rae, Lucas and Seth. Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph L. Tatar, who died April 25, 1983; a brother, Eugene Oresti, who was killed during World War II; three sisters, Yolanda Sedan, Theresa Timko and Mary Jane Tatar; a grandson, Nathan Taylor, who died March 2, 2005. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, with the Rev. Brent Furlong officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
