John R. Canelle, 76, of Liberty Borough, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at UPMC McKeesport. Born June 9, 1936, in Lincoln Borough, he was the son of the late John A. and Anna Marie (Wassel) Canelle and the husband of Audrey (Jordanhazy) Canelle. John was retired from U.S. Steel National Works, where he was a tool and die maker with 30 years of service. He loved to walk in the woods with his beloved dogs, Missy, Scooter and Buddy and he was an avid bowler and hunter for many years and enjoyed going to the casino. John was proud of his Italian heritage and was very proud of his loving grandchildren. He was always a very loving husband and father. In addition to his loving wife, Audrey, John is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Thomas) Wasilko, of Elizabeth Township, Valerie (David) Luehm, of Liberty Borough, and Teri (Michael) Eramo, of Byfield, Mass.; grandchildren, Nicole, Staci (Davis), Adam and Benjamin; and sisters, Frances Brosey, of McKeesport, Gloria Glagola, of Glassport, Patricia Ancarana, of McKeesport, Beverly Liberty, of Port Vue, and Rosale Vasey, of Philadelphia. In addition to his loving parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Florentina Canelle. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICS. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Jody Dausey officiating. Burial will follow at Round Hill Cemetery.
