Pauline G Marhefka, 96, formerly of Scottdale, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, 2013, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born June 21, 1916, in Everson, a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary P. Dulin Marhefka. Pauline was a longtime and faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Lambing No. 314. She was a former member of the Scottdale Business and Professional Women's Organization. She was a graduate of Scottdale High School with the class of 1936 and attained an associate's degree in 1938 from the Greensburg Business Institute. She was an administrative secretary for Westinghouse Corp. in Youngwood with 25 years of service and was a member of the former Westinghouse Choir for many years. Her memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her: her loving sisters, Louise H. Martin, of Greensburg, Christina A. Ferrari, of Youngwood, Cecilia C. Decker and her husband, Charles, of Greensburg, and Mildred M. Marhefka, with whom she resided in Scottdale; and a number of nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Dr. Janice Decker, of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy, Bernard and Andrew Marhefka and Joseph A. Marhefka (6-28-2000), Frank L. Marhefka (5-3-2001) and Albert J. Marhefka (7-7-2003). Pauline's family greeted friends last Friday in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. A blessing service was held Saturday in the funeral home followed by her funeral Mass at in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Scottdale, with her pastor, the Rev E. George Saletrik, as celebrant. Committal services and interment followed in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. Pauline's family suggests that memorials be directed to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church or to Clelian Heights School, 135 Clelian Heights Lane, Greensburg, PA 15601.
