John C. Pitkavish, 68, of Natrona Heights, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at his home. He was born June 13, 1944, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late Joseph J. who died in 2002 and Florence C. (Walters) Pitkavish, who died in 2008. John has lived most of his life in Harrison Township and Brackenridge. He was the owner/operator of Pitkavish Radiator in Brackenridge for 35 years. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of South Buffalo Sportsman Club and Outdoor Life Lodge in Fawn Township. A 1962 graduate of Har-Brack High school, John enjoyed being a part of the Pitkavish Racing team for many years, enjoyed NASCAR and the Meadows and Rivers Casino. John is survived by his wife whom he married in May of 1979, Jeanne L. (Duffy) Pitkavish; his brothers, James F. (Diana) Pitkavish and Jerry D. (Debbie) Pitkavish, of Natrona Heights; and a sister, Connie Brunker, of New Kensington. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Betty L. Duffy, of Natrona Heights; his in-laws, Patrick (Eyvonne) Duffy, of Tarentum, Peggy Ann (Joel) Helgert and Timothy Duffy, of Natrona Heights, and Doreen (Jeffrey) Collins, of Brackenridge; a nephew, Shaun (Stacie) Duffy, of West Deer, godson, Michael (Camilla) Duffy, of Lower Burrell; and nieces, Emily and Erin Rose Collins, of Brackenridge. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Pitkavish, in 1956; and a brother-in-law, Terry Duffy, in 1976. Relatives and friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the blessing service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, PA 15084, 724-224-1526, with Deacon Patrick G.
