Felt , Dorothy 77


Dorothy Nypaver Felt, 77, of Harwick, passed away at home Friday, March 22, 2013, surrounded with her loving family by her side. Born in Russellton to the late Michael and Mary Slanina Nypaver, she had been a lifelong resident of the Valley. Dorothy taught first grade at Colfax Elementary School in the Allegheny Valley School District for 36 years before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, in Harwick, as well as a member of Confraternity, the 55+ Club, the transition team for Parish Pastoral Council, a Eucharistic Minister for the church and Allegheny Valley Hospital, a substitute teacher for CCD, a Cursillista life member of PSEA-Retired and NEA, PASR and AARP. A Springdale Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary member, she also was a member of Thursday morning All-Stars Bowling League, Tuesday afternoon card club and Sunday brunch club. Her survivors Include her sons, Charles Felt, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Richard Felt, of Penn Hills; sister, Irene Kolesar, of Harwick; seven grandchildren; 27 nieces and nephews; 58 great-nieces and nephews; and 21 great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Felt; three brothers, John, Joseph and Thomas Nypaver; and one sister, Sally Salemme. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Cheswick, at CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., with Christian funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady Of Victory Church, in Harwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Our Lady Of Victory Church Fund.
