Cole , Richard G. 96

Richard G. Cole, of Baden, who was adored by those who knew and loved him, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, surrounded by his son, granddaughter, nephew and many friends in Villa St. Joseph, Baden. He was born March 29, 1917, in Rochester to the late Walter and Louie Young Cole. He was the husband of the late Georgina Cole. He is survived by his son, Richard G. Cole, of Encinitas, Calif.; a daughter, Madeline "Mollie" Young Cole, of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Richard served his country in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was the former head of the Welfare Department for the state of California. His wonderful sense of humor and character were summed up by one friend who commented, "He was a gentleman." The family sends their many thanks to Villa St. Joseph in Baden for their tremendous care and support not only now, but in the preceding years. God will truly welcome back his child who indeed "loved his neighbors as himself." We miss and cherish him but know he is free at last and united with his loved ones and wonderful wife, Georgina. Burial was alongside his wife in the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. There was no public visitation.
