Everett Stahl, 89, of Smithton, South Huntingdon Township, passed away peacefully at home April 24, 2013. He was born Dec. 1, 1923, in South Huntingdon Township, a son of the late George and Elva (Kelley) Stahl. He was a lifelong self employed farmer, a former school bus driver for Yough School District and was a self employed milk truck driver for Dairy-lea. He was a member of the Barren Run United Methodist Church, Marion Lodge No. 562, a 32 degree Mason and was a lifetime member of the Mendon Grange. He is survived by two daughters, Deanna Markle and husband, Frank, of West Newton, and Denise Grkman and husband, Joseph, of Venetia; a son, Duane Stahl and wife, Bonny, of Smithton; six grandchildren, Melanie (Frank Watters), Neil (Kennett) Markle, Lindy Grkman, Michael (Allison) Grkman, Melissa Stahl and Jason Stahl; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, April and Joshua Markle, Samuel Watters and Benjamin, Luka and Niko Grkman. He is also survived by a brother, Donald Stahl; and a sister, Arlene (Stahl) Williams. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jayne (Seighman) Stahl in 1994, and his youngest son, Douglas Charles Stahl in 1981; and three sisters and two brothers. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second St., Smithton. Additional viewing will be at 10 a.m. Saturday until funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Barren Run United Methodist Church with Pastor John Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Barren Run Cemetery. Masonic Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Excela Hospice and Home Care for the care given to Everett.
