Olga G. (Stipetich) Barry, a longtime resident of McMurray and recent resident of Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township, died peacefully Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was the widow of Michael (Red) Terence Barry; the daughter of John and Marija Stipetich, of Pittsburgh's South Side; the sister to the deceased Marie Stipetich, Joseph Stipetich, Mrs. Stella Zilko and Mrs. Frances Cindrich. Olga was the devoted mother of eight children, the Honorable Nora Barry Fischer (Dr. Donald R. Fisher) Linda (Dee) Cumpston, Meg Barry, Michael J. Barry (Chris), Kay Barry (John Leathers), Amy Barry (Steven P. Franckhauser), Beth Barry and Joyce Barry (Ben Bobbitt); the grandmother of Erin Fischer, Lauren Schultz (Peter), Adam Fischer (Laura), Major Meghan Cumpston, Ryan Cumpston (Holly), Evan Cumpston, Anna, Ellen and Grace Barry, Luke Franckhauser and McKenna Adkins; and the great-grandmother of Lyla Fischer and Mary Schultz. Olga graduated from St. Peters High School in the South Side at age 15. She was one of the founding members of St. Benedict the Abbott church in McMurray and a member of the League of Women Voters. All of her children graduated from college, with several earning advanced degrees. She was a terrific cook and baker, renowned for her nut rolls, strudel and bear claws. She was a devoted wife and mother of 64 years. She was a beautiful, compassionate and devout Catholic woman, who always put her family before herself. She had a great sense of humor with a contagious laugh. Always giving, she would stop anything she was doing to listen to one of her "dividends". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh or the Pittsburgh Opera Connections/Olga G. Barry Fund. Thanks to all the staff at Paramount, Gateway Hospice and Gallagher Home Care, as well as the many other companions and aides who also loved her. Special thanks to angels, Dee Beagle and Heather Sloss for their gentle loving care. Funeral arrangements are by BEINHAUERS.
