Frank Recupero, 77, of West Kittanning, (Pine Hill), died Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Nov. 21, 1925 in Cowansville to John and Tillie (Guminey) Recupero.
Mr. Recupero was formerly employed at M&E Company, then he retired from Penn Dixie Corporation in 1982.
An Army veteran, he served in the European Theater during World War II and was a guard during the Nuremburg Trial. He received the Bronze Star and Belgium, France and Germany Ribbons.
He was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, Kittanning.
His other memberships were the American Legion Post 325 in Cowansville; Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kittanning; BPOE 203 in Kittanning; FOE 896 in Kittanning, where he was a life member; East Franklin Sportsman Club, where he was a life member; Teamsters Local 538 and United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Booher) Recupero; one son, Dr. Frank J. Recupero of West Chester; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Lucy) Nichols of Longmont, Colo. and Mrs. Cliff (Tillie) Panneton of Blandon; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Recupero of West Kittanning, John Recupero and Angelo Recupero, both of Kittanning; and four sisters, Martha McMasters of Leechburg, Mrs. Ernie (Josephine) Kline of Palmyra, Mrs. Fred (Genevieve) Fox of West Kittanning and Alice Marshall of Youngwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Anthony Recupero and Vincent Recupero; and one sister, Stella Recupero.
RECUPERO — Friends of Frank Recupero, 77, of West Kittanning, (Pine Hill), who died March 23, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, Inc., 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning with his pastor, the Rev. Emil Payer, officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Township. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
