Christine Xenia (Cerkovnik) Fox, 81, of Greensburg, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Integrated Health Services at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late George A. and Anna Ferencuk Cerkovnik. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by Elliott Co. in Jeannette. Chris graduated from the former Hurst High School. She was a member of the Anna L. Windolph Chapter No. 495, Order of Eastern Star, in Johnstown and also the Decapolis Shrine in Johnstown. She was a past president of the Philanthropic Aid Society of Fairfield Township and also a member of the Alwine Civic Center Thimble Sisters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth G. Fox, and two sisters, Ann Datz and Marie Krupar. She is survived by her husband Charles F. Fox; two daughters, Patricia Ann Scheier and her husband, Robert, of Branchburg, N.J., and Sandra Lee Thorwarth and her husband, Barry, of Nazareth, Pa.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Scott Scheier; two brothers, Joseph Covner and Nicholas Cerkovnik, both of Youngwood; three sisters, Ceceila Golobish of Richmond, Ind., Elaine Cerkovnik and Paula Cerkovnik, both of Norvelt; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dean A. Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
