Andy J. Wojciak, 86, of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. Born July 6, 1917, in East Huntingdon Township, he was a son of the late Andrew and Viola (Sroka) Wojciak. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Andy was a student of the former East Huntingdon High School. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Frick Coal and Coke Company, and later as a custodian at Mount Pleasant Area High School. Surviving are three daughters, Alberta Kozak and husband, Waide, of Mount Pleasant, Carolyn Yanuck and husband, Rudolph, of Mechanicsburg, and Margie Wojciak, of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Dr. Rudolph Yanuck III and wife, Tamara, Rachelle Stauffer and husband, Scott, and Donovan W. Kozak; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Brezinski, of Mount Pleasant; two brothers-in-law, Casimer “Pete” Scrabot, of Tarrs, and Albert Gillott, of Mount Pleasant; and a sister-in-law, Frances Pritts, of Washington, Pa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie (Gillott) Wojciak, in 1972; a brother, John Wojciak; and three sisters, Rose Pajak, Mary Hendricks and Margaret Marie Scrabot. Friends will be received at the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., 730 W. Main St., Mount Pleasant, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Pius X Church with the Rev. Michael W. Matusak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home at 3 p.m. today.
