Lillian A. Lynch, 91, of Oakmont, formerly of Penn Hills, died Wednesday (Nov. 3, 2004) at UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh.
Born Jan. 5, 1913, in Braddock, she lived in Oakmont and Penn Hills most of her life.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of St. Irenaeus Roman Catholic Church and Oakmont Garden Club, and volunteered at the Presbyterian SeniorCare and St. Anthony School for Exceptional Children, all in Oakmont, and the Aspinwall Veterinarian Hospital. She also taught for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Initiative.
Survivors include three sons, Robert M. (Sylvia) Lynch of Penn Hills, James D. (Amy) Lynch of Pittsburgh and Kevin R. (Sherry) Lynch of Big Sandy, Texas; two daughters, Mary Pat (Keith) McLaughlin of Middletown, N.J., and Anne L. (Rick) Jacobus of New Kensington; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, A.C. "Jack" Skelly of Roanoke, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Lynch; a son, Edward R. Lynch Jr.; and her parents, John H. and Mary Ellen Morgan Skelly.
Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., family-owned and -operated, 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Irenaeus Church by the Rev. Frank Kurimsky. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, McKeesport.
