E. Doris Zorn, 83, of Dawson, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2005, while in the Indiana Hospital, Indiana, Pa. She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Dunbar, a daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Hardy Hair. Doris was a graduate of Dunbar Township High School with the Class of 1940. She had been a resident of Dawson since 1959, and had formerly worked as a teacher's aide for Frazier High School. Doris was a dedicated member of Tyrone Presbyterian Church in Dawson for 59 years. She was a member and clerk of the session at church for many years. She was also a member of the women's association. Doris loved singing and began singing at revivals when she was 5 years old along with her sister, Nina. She had been involved in music all of her life and served as choir director at Tyrone Presbyterian Church for many years. Doris spent her life giving and caring for others. She was known for sending out hundreds of personalized cards to uplift people. She also delivered soup, homemade bread and baked goods to the sick and elderly. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Eugene M. Zorn; her children, Beverly Magerko and her husband, Bernard, of Farmington, Carol Cable and her husband, George, of Dawson, Doris Naser and her husband, Thomas Hayes, of Dawson, Shelley Zorn and her friend, Bill Myers, of Dawson, Richard Baker and his wife, Karen, of Dickerson Run, Harry Baker and his wife, Barbara, of Ruffsdale, Eugene Baker and his wife, Kathy, of Creekside, and Harold Baker and his wife, Carole, of Mt. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, David Hair and Allen Hair, both of Weirton, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Hair; a sister, Nina Stillwagon; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Halsey Baker. Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING EASTER SUNDAY. Family and friends will gather Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home for a final farewell and then proceed to the graveside at the Cochran Cemetery in Dawson for a committal service with Pastor Robert Prinkey officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Family and friends are then invited to attend a memorial service for Doris to be held Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. in Tyrone Presbyterian Church, Dawson.
