WALTER TAYLOR Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Raymond Taylor on May 18, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, at the age of 86. Born on June 6, 1938, in Hardrock, Ontario.

No matter where Walter went, he was well known for his kindness and many sought his knowledge.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise Taylor of 24 years, stepdaughter Chantal Boucher, and most of all his grandson Gage Carne that he raised since the age of 3. Gage will be honoured to carry on his grandfathers' trades.

Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gertrude Barbeau; his parents, Charles Walter Taylor and Fabiana Laurette Gascon; his brothers James, William, and Philip McGuire, his daughter Theresa Taylor; and his sister, Shirley Suddaby, and his stepson Danny Boucher.

He is lovingly survived by his brothers Ron McGuire, Richard McGuire, and Patrick McGuire; his children Audrey, Adriane, Lionel, Lorraine, Darcy, and Eva; his extended grandchildren.

A proud veteran, Walter served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a paratrooper with the Canadian Airborne Regiment.

Walter spent many years working in the bush across Northern Ontario, he was a true outdoorsman who left a mark on those who labored alongside him, sharing stories over a few cold beers at the Royalton with lifelong friends.

Cremation has taken place at Harbourview Funeral Center, and a Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Partridge Lake, Greenstone, Ontario, off Highway 11 between Jelicoe and Geraldton, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
