Alice Brown Obituary
Alice Faye Roberts Brown was born to her parents, Sam and Celina Kinnerson Roberts, in Opelousas, Louisiana, on September 7, 1939. She attended schools in both Opelousas and later in Beaumont, Texas, where her family relocated for better job opportunities.
Alice and her siblings grew up in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the South End Community, which played a significant role in her life. As an adult, she served in various roles and organizations in the church and was active in numerous community projects to improve the South End. Her community involvement and volunteer work in the schools that her children and grandchildren attended made her a beloved figure in the neighborhood.
Curtis, her husband, who preceded her in death, and Alice were the proud parents of three beautiful daughters, Deborah, Elizabeth, and Amy. She was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family and raising her girls to be God-fearing, strong, and independent women.
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Alice answered her heavenly Father's call at her home, surrounded by the love of family. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Celina Roberts, and her siblings, Palmo Roberts and Theresa Williams.
A lifetime of cherished memories are left to her daughters, Deborah Tate (Irvin), Elizabeth Barry (William), and Amy Alexander; sisters, Joan Holmes, Anna Dietz, and Pamela Martin; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, a niece, other relatives, and friends.
