Mrs. Angela Berry Smith entered eternal rest on October 15, 2025, in Petersburg, Virginia. She was born on September 24, 1960, to the late Leonard Berry and Elizabeth Berry Demus.
Angela was a proud 1978 graduate of Jefferson County High School, where she was an active member of several school clubs and activities. After graduation, she answered the call to serve her country and enlisted in the United States Army, where she dedicated 28 years of honorable service. She was a retired Researcher Developer with the Federal Government.
A woman of deep faith, Angela loved the Lord, her family, and her children. She attended Union Branch Baptist Church in Prince George, Virginia, and Hunting Quarter Baptist Church in Stony Creek, Virginia.
Along with her parents, Angela was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russel Ernest Smith, Jr.; grandparents, William Branner II and Loretta Branner, Gene and Josephine Taylor of Dandridge, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Gemill Graham; stepson, Russell Smith Jr.; grandson, Kash Graham; and step-grandsons, Russell Smith III, and Ramir Smith.
She is also survived by her siblings, Regina and Ricky Berry of Morristown, Tennessee; nephew, Jarek Berry of Morristown, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Reather Mason, Carolyn Smith, and Roma Jones, all of Stony Creek, Virginia, Annie Caison of Chesterfield, Virginia, and Camilla Smith of Petersburg, Virginia; aunts, Josephine (George) Allen, Mary Keys, and Kathy (David) Brown, all of Dandridge, Tennessee, and Kathleen Smith of Stony Creek; a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 11 am at the Hunting Quarter Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Virginia.
Public viewing will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2025 at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 7 p.m.
