Barry Pugh Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Barry Michael Pugh, 42, of Waynesboro Virginia went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2025. Barry was born October 3, 1982 to Savannah Gail Conley and Charles Michael Pugh. He grew up in the Greenwood area near Crozet and attended Western Albemarle high school. After high school he pursued a career in the lumber industry is a certified lumber grader and worked at J Bruce Barnes in Crozet. Barry then went on to receive his license as a pharmacy technician and work for UVA Medical Center for over 10 years. His career then took him to Augusta Health hospital.

Barry loved many things, but most times you could find him on his bicycle, with a golf club in his hand, or snuggling with his dogs, Shiloh and Penny. He loved his garden of daylilies when working at home, but he also loved traveling to warm tropical islands like the Dominican Republic to  watch Toro's baseball.

Barry will be missed by his wife, Courtney, his mother, Savannah, his extended family, and many friends and coworkers.

Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28th at 9:30 AM.

My thoughts and heart go out to Courtney and Barry’s family. It was an honor and a pleasure to work so closely with him, and he always was so kind and helpful when serving the members of our community. The shock and grief of losing such a sunshine of a person are immensely widespread. He has touched so many lives and will be dearly missed until we see him again. I am so grateful I got to know him, and know he has had such an special place in the lives of everyone he met. Until later, sweet friend.

Many thoughts and prayers to Courtney, his mother, his in-laws and coworkers whom he often spoke so highly of.
I had the pleasure of working with Barry as his manager and co-worker the last 3.5 years. There was not a day that went by that he didn’t ask I or his team if we needed anything before he ended his day. He was kind, smart, worked hard and will be greatly missed. I remember the day he was hired and I was so happy to have this “dude” on our team to outweigh all the women.
I’m going to miss our chats about camping, sharing our pup pics and your little vents about our work processes.
As you said, it’s not a goodbye but a take care, see you later. RIP Barry

Our most sincere condolences to you Savannah, Marsha and other family members. No parent should ever have to bury their child but, I too have had to do that, but hold tight to your memories, he will never be gone for he forever lives in your heart. His first steps he took that you witnessed, when he said his first words. Then he would hide from you in a store. And the promises we would make, "you just wait till I get you in the car" for misbehaving. Just know that he is in the arms of our Lord and Savior, he's got it from here, your job and teaching are with God now. If we can help in any way please let us know.

I am so sorry for your loss. Barry was such a sweet person and will be missed greatly. When he would come to work in office here at Augusta Health he would most always purchase pizza for all of us. Barry was always willing to help out anyway he could. Even if a silly question he would not judge. He would always do his best to answer any question i had. I will miss him. Rest in Peace Barry and know you will never be forgotten.
