It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Carlos Borboa, who departed this life at the age of 51. A beloved father, brother, son and a man of faith. He passed peacefully after a long battle with health complications.
He was born in Mexicali, Baja California, raised in Blythe, California, Carlos lived a life rooted in strength, generosity and devotion to the people he loved. Those who knew him best often said his love knew no boundaries. Whether it was family or friends, his heart was open, and his kindness was ever-present. He was a man of God, led by compassion and humility.
Throughout his life, Carlos worked a variety of jobs, each of them handled with diligence and purpose. No task was too small if it meant supporting those he loved. More than anything else, Carlos cherished his role as a father. Being a dad to his only son was the greatest joy of his life. His dedication and sacrifice knew no end his son’s needs were always his top priority, and he made sure his child was supported.
Carlos had a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace and joy in fishing and camping—two of his favorite pastimes. He also loved cruising around town in his purple Chevy truck, “Carlitos Way”, a simple pleasure that brought him a sense of freedom and relaxation.
As one of nine siblings- two sisters and six brothers- he understood the power of family. Even in his final years, as he faced many medical challenges in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals, Carlos found comfort in the moments his family came together. Those visits, those shared hours of connection, were a source of strength and gratitude for him.
Carlos will be remembered for his unwavering love, his faith-filled heart and his devotion to his family- especially his son. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the values he passed on.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Borboa, and survived by his son Carlos Borboa, mother Socorro Borboa, brother Robert Angulo (Gloria), brother Eduardo Angulo, sister Maria Saldaña (Fernando), sister Ana Mendez (Jose Luis), brother Francisco Borboa (Renee), brother Ramon Borboa, brother Ricardo Borboa (Emilda), brother Mario Borboa (Rosaicela) and countless nieces, nephews and extended family.
A viewing and rosary honoring Carlos Borboa’s life will be held at Frye Chapel on July 14th, beginning at 5 pm. The funeral will be on July 15th at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10 am.
May he rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the arms of the Lord.

In memory, my encounters with Carlos were most often at the Catholic Church, before or after Mass. Brief but always pleasant. I believe his eulogy to be a true testament to the great man that he IS! He’s completed the course, he’s run the race. “Well done Carlos, faithful servant.” Your life is a model to be imitated. Collect the crown of glory that awaits you. I love you and am happy for you my brother!

Carlos was one of a kind . He was a very loving person who was always there for everyone . He would give his shirt off his back for his son and family and to those he loves dearly . He was a very strong person . He always knew the right things to say when you talked to him . He also loved to make people laugh telling his jokes always no matter what he had a bright soul . His brightness will continue to shine through his son Carlos Borboa jr. He will never be forgotten . We will continue to love him forever and always . It’s not a goodbye , it’s we will see you later .
