Carolyn Bond Obituary

Gate City, VA – Carolyn Sue Bond – age 73

Carolyn Sue Bond, 73 of Gate City, VA, formerly of Grassy Creek over 48 years, went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.  She was the daughter of the late Urbie and Clara Steele Proulex.  She loved to crochet an tend to her flower garden.  She was a member of the House of Prayer church.  In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky Proulex and Jerry Proulex; a sister Debbie Parks.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Mason (Ben); four sons, Billy Bond, Benji Bond, Brain Bond (Heather) and Bradley Bond (Samantha); grandchildren, Abbie Tester (Michael “Pete”), Brue Mullins (Caitlyn), Connor Bond, Carlie Bond, Dakota Myers; great grandchildren, Rylee Tester, Kylie Tester; sisters, Lisa Salyers (Doug) and Catherine Rust (James); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her loyal companion, Buddy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 11 – 12 Noon at Colonial Funeral Home with graveside following at Grassy Creek Cemetery with Pastor Riley Boyd officiating.  Pallbearers will be Brue Mullins, Pete Tester, Billy Bond, Brian Bond, Bradley Bond and Billy Hackney.  Honorary pallbearer will be Benji Bond.
