Cary Carboni Obituary

Cary “DeDe” “Grandaddy” Carboni, age 84, passed away peaceful at his home with family surrounding in Washington, NC on July 18th, 2025. He was born on December 18th, 1940 to the late John Carboni Sr. and Sylvia Reiff Carboni in The Bronx, New York.


A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Sunday July 20, 2025 at Hope Church and will be officiated by Kyle Miller.


He later moved to Raleigh, NC where he spent his career as a Computer Programmer for NCR, with a degree from Ohio college. He later moved to Washington, NC and married Althea Williams Carboni on April 16th, 1986.


He loved his family especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Any time he would see them his whole face would light up. He spent many days taking the grandchildren to dance and piano lessons, to the camp ground twin lakes and the head boats Captain Stacy and Carolina Princess. He was the official chauffeur for the grandchildren.


He was once a longtime member of the Redmens lodge & friends of the VFW. He also attended Hope Church in Washington, NC.


In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son Richard Earl Craddock & granddaughter Sandy Renee Rouse.


He is survived by his wife Althea Williams Carboni, his brother John Carboni Jr (Geraldine), his daughter Sherry Craddock Tyson (Troy), and son Scot Carboni (Angela ), Daughter in-law Amy Warren (Michael Jon). His Grandchildren Daniel Joel Rouse ( Emily), Jodie Alonza Nano (Mark), Rebecca Craddock Weatherington (Michael), Andrew Carboni, Nathan Carboni. Great Grandchildren Dawson Rouse, Opal Rouse, Lucas Weatherington, Jaxon Nano, Thea Nano.


He was the most kindest, loving, and gentle person. He will be truly missed by many.
