Charles "Cole" Warren Obituary

Charles “Cole” Warren, 73, of Lebanon, died Friday, July 25.  He was the son of late Charles and Norma Jean (Frazier) Warren, born on February 1, 1952 in Lebanon; he graduated with the Class of 1970 and attended Purdue University where he attempted to teach the professors.

Cole was a hardworking man who dedicated his entire career to farming, as the owner and operator of Cole Warren Farms he farmed corn, beans and livestock.  As the former co-owner of the Boone County Livestock Center, Cole operated as a livestock broker.  Cole was an entrepreneur at heart having owned and operated different businesses over the years.  His hard work allowed him to give back to his community as a supporter of the Boone County Cancer Society and the Boone County Foundation. Cole was a very generous and a very spirited individual......

He is survived by his daughter, Whitney (Jason Whitlow) Warren of Greenville, South Carolina; grandson, Charles “Cole” Warren; brother, Chad (Micki) Warren of Indianapolis; the son he never had, Ryan (Jamie) Venis of Lebanon and “Uncle” Walter (Bridgett) Burtner of Lebanon; nieces and nephew, Craig Warren of Lebanon, Angie (Chris) Coddington and Jami French both of Lebanon.  Cole was fortunate to have found a loving companion in Joy Pollock of Lebanon; they enjoyed many good times together.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, July 30 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made the Alzheimer’s Association or the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home.

Many fond memories of Cole beginning in the late 70s. My Dad and I owned Fountain County Livestock and sold hogs to Cole for a long time. I was very saddened to hear this news. I considered Cole a great friend of mine. He will be missed I am sure.

I meet Cole 10 years ago, he was a regular at Family Express for his morning coffee. My whole family loved Cole as they all got to know him.
My daughter’s favorite memory was when she was trying to get tips for helping me at work. He told her I have a tip for you “get a job!” Then handed her 20 bucks. His nickname for me was “on time all the time “ because I was always late opening the store and he would be there waiting on me.
Cole talked a lot about his grandson and daughter showing me pictures. He was very proud and the love he has for both was amazing to see. My deepest sympathy to Cole’s family. He was truly one of a kind and be missed by so many.

I was a fellow classmate with Cole. I always liked him. I just moved back to Indiana and haven't seen him in years. I recently heard of his new relationship with Joy and want to express my sincere sympathy for her unexpected loss as well as to Cole's extended family. He will be missed by many.

Went to kindergarten with Cole and always remembered him. Must’ve made quite an impact at 5 years old Moved to Pike’s Crossing and finished school at Washington Twp. Never saw him again until he came into the Thorntown Vet Clinic for meds of some kind. Kidded him about our “history” together. Was so easy to talk toso happy to see he had connected with Joy, another old friend. So very sorry to Joy and his family! Prayers for peace and comfort
