Deacon Charles James Williams


Deacon Charles James Williams, age 88 was born on February 18, 1937, transitioned from this earth on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana where he was a pillar of the Terrebonne Parish Community. Charles was a faithful member and senior deacon of Rock of Ages B.C., and also a Deacon and member of the trustee board of Terrebonne parish Men’s Day Association Louisiana 5th District Lehman department. Charles James Williams was a loving grandfather and father who loved going to church, telling you about the word, and giving back into his community. His wavering love and wisdom always came with laughter and joy for everyone who ever encountered it. Charles leaves behind his cherished love and memories, his wife Wilma Warren Williams; one daughter Juanika W. Allridge (Wilfred); two sons, Charles Williams Jr. and RaShe Williams (Cassandra); one sister, Sandra, Norman and one daughter-in-law Marilyn C. Williams and Wendy H. Williams of Houma , Louisiana. He was also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and 4 godchildren.  Deacon Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Verett, McGee and Charlie Williams; his grandparents, Fanny Goings, and Emma Goings Dickerson; one Uncle Clarence “Jack “Verett; 4 sons James Sr. Ronald, Gregory, and Byron Williams; two brothers, Clarence McGee and Michael Norman Sr., two sisters, Mary Coleman and Charlene Norman.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1216 Aycock Strreet, Houma, LA 70360 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Followed by the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1216 Aycock Street., Houma, LA 70360 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment Deweyville Cemetery.
