David Keither Caldwell, 54, of Logan, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center East Hospital in Columbus. He was born September 9, 1967, in Piggott, Arkansas, son of Sarah Davenport Gilliam of Lancaster and the late Dewey “Pete” Caldwell. David was married to Melissa “Missy” Merritt Caldwell, who survives.
He was the Chief Engineer at Macy’s Department Store for the Columbus region. David was very devoted to his wife and daughter. Along with his wife Missy, he enjoyed motorcycle riding and supporting various charities.
David is survived by his daughter, Zowie Caldwell of Logan; sisters, Helen (Bruce) Marcum of Fort Gay, West Virginia and Juanita Caldwell of Florida and a good friend of 37 years, Randy Porter of Zanesville and a host of other very close friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Quincy Gilliam and friend and cousin, Arnold Pack.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.

So sad to hear of David’s passing. We worked together at Macy’s Richland, he did his best to keep a good attitude while trying to get the broken stuff fixed and there was a-lot of broken stuff. We had so many discussions about fixing the roof, I’m pretty sure he would groan when he saw me coming. His southern drawl always made me smile. Rest In Peace David
