Earl D. Tart, Sr., age 94, of Davenport, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. Born on August 1, 1930, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Earl lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, and deep love for his family.
As a young adult, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years before retiring. Earl later owned and operated Tart's Towing in Maryland alongside his son, Earl D. Tart, Jr., proudly serving their community for many years.
After retiring, Earl moved to Florida, where he continued to stay active by working for Walt Disney World, proudly driving the monorails and buses, bringing joy to guests from around the world.
Earl shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lois Jean Tart, before her passing. Their lifelong devotion to each other was a beautiful example of love and commitment to all who knew them. Earl was also preceded in death by his devoted son, Earl D. Tart, Jr., and by several beloved brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Acosta; his daughter-in-law, Patty Tart, wife of his late son, Earl D. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Dillard, and his brother, JD Tart.
Earl leaves behind a legacy of strength, integrity, and devotion to family — a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
It was Earl’s request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Chapel Baptist Church, 15744 County Rd 474, Clermont, FL 34714.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
