Everett "Poppy" Davis, Jr. Obituary

Everett Eugene Davis, Jr. passed away on July 17, 2025, in Kopperl, Texas. Born on December 31, 1965, in Polk County, Texas, he was the son of Everett Eugene Davis and Wanda Lou Hickman Chance.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Mackey; his mother, Wanda Lou Hickman Chance; his father, Everett Eugene Davis; his stepfather, Jerry Chance; his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Dovie Hickman; his paternal grandparents, Clarence A. and Bessie Davis; his grandson, Christopher Michael Mackey, Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Stanson Raye McFairen.

Everett is survived by his children: Amanda Kemmler and her husband Adam of Milton, Florida; Christopher Mackey and his wife Angel of Kopperl, Texas; Jeffrey Mackey and his wife Amy of Trinity, Texas; and Amberlie Falk and her husband Harold Christpher of Kopperl, Texas. He is also mourned by his sisters, Nancy Issac and husband Don of Shephard, Texas, and Diane McFairen of Shephard, Texas.

Everett’s legacy continues through his seventeen grandchildren: Katlynn, Michael, Azhia, and Easton Ray Mackey; Christian, Harold Jame-Lee, Everett Hill, and Faith Falk; Annalissa, Aleigh, Colt, Jesse, Lee, and Natalie Stansberry Mackey; Kendra, Bentley, and Grayson Kemmler, as well as by numerous other friends and relatives.

A skilled water and wastewater operator for over sixteen years, Everett was truly a jack of all trades. He had a passion for fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles, and found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and especially in spoiling his grandchildren.

Everett will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.
