Fa’atamali’i Sema Pritchard, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, in Morgan Hill, California, at age 86. Born in Apia, Samoa, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother known for her generous spirit and open heart. An accomplished entrepreneur and baker, she operated multiple businesses while serving her community through nursing and faith. Fa’atamali’i held an unwavering love for her homeland and proudly represented American Samoa in the 1963 South Pacific Mini Games. This was only one of countless and memorable expressions of her love for Samoa.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Pritchard, and her loving parents, Liva Ah Loe Lamositele (mom) and Sema Faualo (dad), as well as her siblings Se’e and Lupe. Fa’atamali’i leaves behind a profound legacy of family, faith, and care. Fa’atamali’i is survived by 4 daughters, including Elena, Sofia (Sau), Kishon, and the youngest Schechinah, and 8 sons, Elioenai, Aziza, Andrew (Faamao), Kurt, Benaiah, El-Shaddai,
Ibbha, and Shiloh, as well as the daughters she helped raise with maternal love, Repeka, Liva, and Ana. Her nurturing spirit extended across generations, embracing a host of 45 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, each of whom inherit her strength, warmth, and sense of purpose. She is also remembered by her siblings Nanai Tiavolo, Tinousi, Ailini, Tiava, Su’e, David, and Tala, who stood by her through seasons of joy and sorrows, bound together by shared memories, faith, and the values passed down from their parents.
Her legacy of love and service will always be with us. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

To My Dear Aunty,
It’s hard to put into words how much your presence meant to me. You were more than just my aunty, you were a second mother, a friend, a guide, and a source of endless comfort. Your kindness, your laughter, and your strength touched my life in ways I’ll never forget.
Even though you’re no longer here with us, I feel your love still surrounding me. I will carry your memory with me always, in the little things, the family moments, the stories, and the lessons you shared.
Thank you for everything you gave me. Thank you for the love. Thank you for being you.
May you rest peacefully. You will always live on in my heart.
With all my love,

I’ve met Mother Pritchard through Geenah, her daughter, in New Jersey where Geenah was staying at the time. She has took me and welcomed me as if I was her own daughter. She shared with me her culture, family genealogy and history with me while I was sitting with her watching TV while her daughter was at work. Mother Pritchard had fought well with the illnesses she endured until the very end. For what I have observed of Mother Pritchard, she had left a wonderful and remarkable legacy. I am blessed to have met her. “Aloft ma le tuuto ia Mother Pritchard. ❤

Ia Manuia lau Malaga Aunty Fa'atamali'i. I only met you once when you travelled to New Zealand for my dad's funeral in 1993. No doubt you had love for my dad and also a helping hand in our little family as dad & mom told us how he came and stayed with you in Tutuila whilst he was schooling or working. My father must of held you in high regards as well because he named his first born after you. Thank you Auntie for your love and kindness and I will always be grateful for you. Alofa tele atu matou mo oe. O le Fanua a lou first cousin (late) Tivoli Kesi.

She raised a great daughter in Chinah. Chinah and I had many conversations about how strong of a woman her mother was. Everything I read about her supports out talks. Be at peace now.
