Floyd Bruning Obituary

Floyd Dene Bruning was born July 26,1928 to Walter and Marie (Schaper) Bruning in Wright City, MO. Ten minutes after his twin brother Lloyd Gene. He died February 24, 2022, at home in Warrenville, IL surrounded by family.


Floyd attended Olivet Nazarene University where he met his wife, Martha (Quanstrom) they married March 22, 1952.


Floyd served in the US Army from 1950-1952.


He received an MBA in Economics from DePaul university.


Floyd spent most of his career at RR Donnelly and Sons Printing in Chicago, working in the field of finance and benefits.


Retiring early, Floyd dedicated his life to using his business skills serving Christian missions volunteering, with Martha, from 1987 – 2021. Serving together in several states and internationally to Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Staying on location anywhere from a few weeks to 6 months.


His love for the Lord was evident in all he did, as a husband, father, friend, or businessman.


He is survived by His wife Martha (Quanstrom), sons Walter, David (Nancy Johnson) and daughter Janelle (Benjamin) Wills. Grandchildren Rodney (Dianna) Bruning, Jenny (Jesse) Daubert, Emily (Josh) Breedan, Wesley (Moriah) Bruning, Lauri Bruning, Aryanna Wills, Spencer Wills, and 9.5 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held March 5, 2022 from 9:30 to 11 at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. 


Interment and military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
