Gerald Flora Obituary

Gerald Wayne Flora, 90, of Delphi, passed away, Sunday-July 6, 2025, at 9:28pm, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. Gerald was born on March 18, 1935, in Lakeland, FL, to the late Mose & Ruby Skiles Flora. His marriage was to Kay A. Fisher, on the family farm in Brookville, OH, on June 3, 1956, recently celebrated their 69th anniversary, and she survives. Gerald attended Camden High School. Early in his working career, he worked for Gulf States Metal Buildings as a regional sales manager and for Cuckler Metal Buildings as a district sales manager. While living in Carroll County he owned and operated Flora Builders. Managing several large construction projects, especially new churches, always enjoying working with the church board to achieve the building they dreamed of, locally and many surrounding counties. After slowing down he worked at Home Depo and True Value for a while before retiring in 2006. Gerald & Kay were founding members of the Victory in Christ Fellowship Church in Flora. He participated on several of the church boards, always lending a hand and advice where need be. Gerald enjoyed woodworking, watching and caring for his hummingbirds, fishing and boating trips with his family, Cincinnati Reds baseball and Purdue sports. His greatest love was for his family. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's school events and sporting functions. He loved them all so much and enjoyed all the time they spent together as a family. Although extremely sadden by their loved ones passing, they rejoice in knowing he is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior. Surviving: wife-Kay A. Flora of Delphi, daughter-Deb & Robb Huff of Delphi, daughter-Diane & Brian Deaton of Wonewoc, WI, daughter-Christy & Mark Schock of Camden, brother-Clayton & Peggy Flora of Rossville, sister-Phyllis & Jim Diehl of Delphi, sister-Betty & James Beery of Goshen, sister-in-law-Julia Flora of Peru. 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter survives. Preceded in death by 2 brother's Edwin & Dennis, an infant sister, a grandson John. Services: Visitation will be Saturday-July 12, 2025, from 11am until his funeral service at 2pm, at Victory in Christ Fellowship Church, 115 N. Washington St., Flora, IN 46929.
