Humberto F. Ramirez was born in 1936 in Aguascalientes Mexico, raised and loved by his mother Ana Maria Funes Ramirez.
He married Maria Luz "Lucy" Esquivel in 1967 and relocated their young family to Chicago in 1969 settling in the Albany Park neighborhood and later in Morton Grove. To his family he is known as Viejo, Papi, Jefe and Wito. He worked and retired as a mechanic at Vienna Beef after more than 30 years . Humberto was an old soul that favored big band music and you would never see him wearing jeans. He was a faith filled Catholic and walked a yearly pilgrimage to San Juan de los Lagos (Jalisco, Mexico) for many years. He enjoyed watching Chicago sports and was a Cub, Bulls and Bears fan.
He was a devoted a family man and will be missed by his wife Maria Luz (Lucy), his children, Humberto (Carolyn), Luis and Laura Patricia and his doting grandchildren Monica and Martin. Until we meet again sweet man RIP.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W. Talcott, Park Ridge, IL. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on the same day, interment will be private.

Tio Humberto was always such a joy to be around. It was always a pleasure to see him, and he never failed to brighten the room with his presence. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Sending love and comfort to the whole family.
