Jackie "Jack" Fowler Obituary

Jackie W. Fowler

MORRISVILLE: Jackie (Jack) William Fowler, 80, formerly of Morrisville died peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover where he lived under their care and attention for the past three years.

He was born on August 18, 1944, in Stowe; the son of the late John Brooks and Betty Ann (Cota) Fowler.

He attended Stowe public schools. Following his education, Jackie entered the Vermont National Guards as soon as he was age eligible. Jack proudly served his country and was discharged early due to a hearing disability.

On November 26, 1966, he married Sharon Bonneau in Lowell. Together they built a new homestead from the ground up and raised a son living their married life in Morrisville.

He worked all his working years as a truck driver for Dale E. Percy, Inc. in Stowe. He retired at the age of 66 following nearly 45 years of dedicated service to the company. Consequently, Jack was informally recognized by his peers for being regarded as one of the most skilled full-time drivers in the area.

Outside of work, he was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, reliable friend, and passionate steward to the land for some forestry acreage our family manages in Lowell, VT. Jack loved spending time on the “Lowell Land “, especially with his grandson. He also enjoyed “road hunting” during the respective Vermont hunting season(s), maintaining his small engine equipment (Wheel Horse) collection, tinkering on and running his Tucker Snowcats in winter, and holidays with family.

He was predeceased by two sisters Earlene Fowler Camley and Cynthia Fowler Borck, and nephew James Camley who was taken from us way too early at 17 years of age in June 1980.

Survivors include his wife, of more than 58 years, Sharon Fowler of Morrisville; a son Michael Fowler, and a grandson Owen Fowler, both of Williston; two sisters Judy Boyce of Hyde Park and Sherry Gamage of Owls Head, Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no public Services. A celebration of life beginning at 1:00 PM will be held on August 9, 2025, at the Fowler residence, 129 Needle Eye Road, Morrisville, Vt 05661.  Refreshments and beverages will be served. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Dian R. Holcomb of Northern Vermont Funeral Service, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick. Online condolences are welcomed at: northernvermontfuneralservice.com
