Jacquelin Tennyson Obituary

Jacquelin Hauck Tennyson, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at Regional One Medical Center.

Jacquelin was born on February 13, 1937, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late Leo J. Hauck and Dorothy King Hauck. A longtime resident of Charleston, Mississippi, she was the oldest member of the First Presbyterian Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She cherished her church family deeply and found joy and strength in their fellowship.

Jacquelin was also a proud member of the Teasdale Quilters, where she not only shared her love of quilting but formed lasting friendships. She had a gift for cooking and delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings and community events, and she was known as "the cake Lady" because she often delivered her famous caramel cake to those who were sick, in need, or just because.

Above all, Jacquelin was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor made her the heart of her family.

When her health allowed, Jacquelin enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, always returning with stories and smiles.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Tennyson Simmons (Sonny) of Winona, MS., three sons, Gary Tennyson (Janice) of Birmingham, AL., Jeff Tennyson and special companion (Diane) of Oakland, MS., Jason Tennyson (Kim) of Oakland, MS., two sisters, Pat Talaga (Jim) of Illinois and Sue Tadey of Florida , a brother, Richard Hauck (Ginger) of California, six grandchildren, Laura Adams (Jay), Anna Nance, Rebecca Bowen (Bo), Lance Tennyson (Caitlyn), Cassie Tennyson (Holden Brewer), Mitch Goad ( Britni), eleven great-grandchildren, Macy Adams, Jack Adams, Ellie Kate Adams, Amelia Grace Nance, Tennyson Nance, Miller Bowen, Baylor Bowen, Lynlee Kate Tennyson, Liam Hayes Tennyson, Benson Goad, Brinley Goad, and special friend/assistant, Cindy Calder.

Jacquelin is preceded by her parents, Leo J. Hauck and Dorothy King Hauck, her husband of 52 years, Joe Lee Tennyson, a brother, Bob Hauck, two sisters, Shirley Jones and Sharon Sailley, and a grandson, Matt Goad.
