James Edward Cleveland passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, in Shepherd, Texas on February 20, 2024. He was born in Trinity, Texas on March 4, 1940 to Lee Autrey and Mary (Slaughter) Cleveland.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Pamela Carr; and brother Jerry Cleveland.
James is survived by his daughter Katherine Cleveland; son Curtis Cleveland; grandchildren Richard James Wade and wife Sarah, Amanda Cantrell and husband Chase, Blaine Cleveland, and Morgan Carr and husband Jordan; great-grandchildren Remington, Ryder, Asher, Lokie, and Ryker; and sister Jean Freeman. Numerous extended family and friends also survive.
He worked his entire life as an electrician. James enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was known for his sense of humor and being a jokester. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind to cherish his memory and to protect his legacy.
