Jason was born in Spring Valley, IL on January 8, 1976 to James E. and Judith (Bochnik) Mealey.  He was a graduate of Grand Canyon University and had currently been working as a general contractor.

Jason was a devoted father, a loving son and brother, and a cherished friend to many.  He lived his life with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for those around him.  Jason loved coaching and attending his kids’ functions.  Whether sharing laughter with friends, offering support to family, or simply lending a helping hand, he had a way of making others feel seen and valued.  His strength, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include his mother, Judi Mealey, of Dunlap; his daughter, Ryleigh Mealey and his son, Kaden Mealey, both of Bloomington; his brother, Jim (Jamie) Mealey and sister, Jolyn (Ben) Logan, both of Arizona; his aunt, Darlene Wendell, of Dunlap; three nephews, Gino, Josh, and Ben, all of Arizona; and two great nieces, Avery and Harlyn.

He was preceded in death by his father, in 2019, as well as his grandparents.

My heart is breaking not only for myself but all of Jason’s family and friends. Jason truly loved everyone in his life. He was the kindest man I have ever known. Jason came into my life out of nowhere and quickly became one of the most important people in my life. He became my best friend and partner, my confidant, and my rock. He found my smile again. He showed me a love and kindness that I’ve never had. We were the same in so many ways and everything just felt so right, we fit perfectly. Jason, you took a piece of my heart with you when you left I’ll miss you until we meet again my sweet handsome prince.

Firebirds and Miller Lite, sunshine on your face
Country music and work all week keeping the shadows at bay
The arms of a woman the laugh of a child, the lonesome walk delayed.
The good fight kept the smile you left until we meet another day.

We’ve been best friends since our 3rd & 4th grade years , we were in each other’s weddings and both of us were recognized as a family member by each other’s family. I’ve never had better times or more memories with anyone. Their is a rock in my stomach and a pain in my heartwhen I realized I’m never going to get picked up and hugged again when we 1st see each other after a long time and see your huge bright smile . I will forever save my last text from you on the night before you left us saying “ I Love You Brother “ and I responded “Love You Man”. Until we meet again Jason , my God keep you and love you.
