So sorry the world lost a good man but heaven gained a master carpenter.
I served with Jerry in the Seabees. He knew me when I was a pup builder. Jerry taught me a lot about carpentry, and always was upbeat about everything even when tragedy hit in his life . I can say beyond shadow of any doubt you won’t find a fellow brother that served with him that would have a bad thing to say about his character. What I loved about Jerry is his personality, he was just Jerry . He told me one time when I asked him about becoming a first class petty officer he told me nope , I’m in the best rate there is. I ask why and in true fashion he said Tommy, the first class is doing a lot of paper work trying to make Chief, the 3rd class and below do the grunt work, so the first class tells the second class what needs to be done and they tell the third class ! You see I’m in the middle and life is good . lol
I always enjoyed his stories while he would be sharping his pocket knife . He will be missed by us Seabees and I say a prayer for the family they lost a legacy. Fair winds and following seas my brother, stand down your watch is over, I stand the watch

Jerry was such a great man. Working hard his whole life, raising a beautiful family. Always willing to give you his shirt off his back and quicker to tell a joke to make you laugh. Jerry was liked by many but loved by many more. He will definitely be missed for years to come.

Uncle Jerry was always such a kind person with the biggest smile on his face! I remember growing up going to visit him and Aunt Beverly while me and my cousins would play hide and seek in the house until they heard me muffled crying one evening because I thought that hiding in the dryer would be a great idea until I panicked when the door latched and I couldn’t open it. Uncle Jerry and my Hawpaw came and got me out but I will never forget those days and laugh at them! Over time we learned that we both shared a big love for horses especially Tennessee walkers! Although I lived hours away from pea ridge he let me tell him all of my ideas when I was little of how I would build me a barn and we could both love on a horse of my own! He lite up every room he walked in and he will be greatly missed by us all! I love you Uncle Jerry!

Love this man like an uncle. He always had a smile & a story of a shenanigan Iris & I pulled as children. Lots of memories slumber parties & hanging out at Jerry & Beverly’s home. Jerry & Beverly were rays of sunshine at one of the hardest times of my life. Beverly & my husband Berton had chemo treatments at the same time. Beverly always quoted an uplifting Bible verse while Jerry offered his support for us. They were supporting us while fighting their own battle with cancer. Much Love & prayers to you Sherrie & Iris & all your families.
