Joey Hudson, Sr. Obituary
Mr. Joey Earl Hudson, Sr., age 69, a resident of Washington, NC died Friday July 25, 2025, at ECU Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 29, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington officiated by Pastor Kevin Whaley. Pallbearers will be Joey Earl Hudson II, Daniel McAlan Hudson, Joey “Trey” Hudson, III, Alan Foreman Hudson, William Rodney Hudson, and Kevin Dean Hudson.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Mr. Hudson was born in Washington, NC on January 31, 1956, son of the late Joseph Leondas Hudson and the Late Polly Hodges Hudson. He attended Chocowinity High School and on April 16, 1974, he married the former Linda Diane Pinkham who survives. He worked in the LP Gas industry with D.S. Swain Gas Company and Tidewater Energy for many years. He retired as a transportation worker in the bridge maintenance division of the N.C. Department of Transportation. Mr. Hudson dearly loved restoring and collecting antique cars and antiques. He enjoyed working with his hands and he was skilled in many types of trades. Mr. Hudson was also very patriotic and loved his Country.
Survivors include his wife: Linda of the home; sons: Joey Earl Hudson II and his wife Amy of Washington, and Daniel McAlan Hudson and his wife Heather of Pinetown; brother: William Rodney Hudson and his wife Becky of Greenville; sisters: Brenda Hudson Mincey and Cheryl Hudson Sykes of Washington and grandchildren: Joey E. “Trey” Hudson, III, Riley Kate Hudson, Megan Lee Hudson, and Alan Foreman Hudson. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Donnie Lee Hudson, Craig Steven Hudson, and Jeffrey Dean Hudson.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Joey Earl Hudson, Sr. Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.

I graduated High School with Joey (Chocowinity 1975). Joey was a great guy, He was always friendly was fun to hang out with. I would see him occasionally after high school and he always mad me feel like a good friend. Makes me sad he is no longer with us. I will be praying for his family. God Bless you!!
