Katherine Slama Obituary

Katherine D. Slama, 95, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on October 12, 2025. Born on December 29, 1929, in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, Katherine lived a life marked by faith, love, and devotion to her family and community.

Katherine graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Center in New York in January 1944. It was while roller skating in Mineola, New York, that she met the love of her life, Anthony J. Slama. Their romance culminated in a heartfelt proposal on the Brooklyn Bridge. Katherine and Anthony, affectionately known as "Kay" and "Tony," were married for 50 years until his passing in 1999. Together, they raised two children, Robert and Patricia Mary, in New York until 1972, when the family relocated to Delray Beach, Florida. Katherine worked for many years at Hands Office Supply on Atlantic Avenue, before retiring and settling in Atlantis, Florida.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Katherine cherished her family. She leaves behind her children Robert Slama and his wife Karen Slama, Patricia Mary Hastings and her husband Jerry Hastings. Grandchildren, Bailey Kristen Hastings and Jeffrey Michael Slama Hastings, and her great-granddaughters, Fiona Mae Lashells and Falyn Mae Lashells. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took immense joy in nurturing and supporting them, always.

Katherine was a woman of profound Catholic faith, known to many as "Miss Kay." She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she served in the office and lovingly taught the children of the parish about the ways of the Lord. Always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, Katherine's compassion and generosity touched countless lives. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life, leading her peacefully to her eternal rest.

Katherine is predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony J. Slama. She is survived by her children, her grandchildren, great-granddaughters, and many friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
