Kenneth Eads Obituary

Kenneth George Eads, of rural Grove, OK, was born December 1, 1945, in Commerce, OK, and departed this life, Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and several friends.

The son of George Hammond Eads and the former Lucille Maureen Hail, he was raised in Commerce, and he graduated from Commerce High School. Kenneth married Sharon Humphrey. From their union came two beautiful daughters.  He was a contractor and built many homes in the area as well as owning/operating North Main Video and Liquor in North Miami. He also worked in sales and for the OK Department of Transportation.

He had been a member of the Elks Lodge and Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. He greatly enjoyed coaching his daughters’ softball teams. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing on his Cushman Eagles, Harleys, boats, homemade go-kart, para-plane, Chevelle and Model A Ford.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christopher Hill; and the mother of his children, Sharon (Humphrey) Geren.

He is survived by two daughters, Shannon Eads of Miami, who gave him a grandson, Kyle Hill of Miami, and a great grandson, Keaton Hill of Wichita, KS, and daughter, Julie Pellett and husband Wade of Ft. Scott, KS, who gave him additional grandchildren, Elizabeth Booth of Eureka Springs, AR, and Weston Pellett and wife, Annalyse of Ft. Scott, and great granddaughter, Arria Lewis of Eureka, Springs, AR; one brother, Ronnie Eads of Parsons, KS; several cousins that were dear to his heart; and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, under the gazebo at GAR Cemetery in Miami. Around 9: 15 a.m., a procession from Commerce High School will precede to the cemetery for those who wish to participate. Motorcycles and “cool” cars are encouraged in the procession to honor what Kenneth loved.

The family is happy to accept a limited number of floral arrangements for the services.  These can be delivered later to the funeral home prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, donations will also be welcomed for Ryan Rutledge's granddaughter (great granddaughter of Reuben Rutledge) Fundraiser by Ryan Rutledge : Go Fund Me at Rally for Rylann https://gofund.me/faa640b7 or the Patriot Guard Donate to the PGR – Patriot Guard Riders https://patriotguard.org/tribute/

A Celebration of Life will be held after the graveside service at the Elks Lodge, 401 South Main, in Miami. All ages are welcome to attend in the private room.

Stories and words of remembrance on-line or in person at either service are encouraged.
